a:lumination is the Jr. High, parent-equipping, youth ministry of Gulf Coast Community Church (anyone from 5th to 7th grade is welcome)! Our goal is simple: partnering with parents to disciple their student to know Christ and show Christ.
It’s our desire for both the parents and students of a:lumination to be a bright light in the world, one that reflects the truths of Jesus Christ and one that points people to the hope found in Him. We believe that biblical truths, if understood, can capture hearts and change lives at a young age. a:lumination provides a unique atmosphere to hear, discuss and apply biblical truth with students and parents alike. a:lumination also provides a unique and fun time of fellowship together.
Christ Jesus transforms our lives by saving us from our sin and enabling us to live for His glory rather than our own. a:lumination provides a place of interaction for students with students and students with parents about faith in Christ. Understanding what we believe and why we believe it, taking ownership our relationship with God, making God-honoring decisions, respecting our parents, engaging our culture, and sharing the truth of the gospel with the world around us are just a few examples of the topics we cover. This won’t all be accomplished in one meeting, but a:lumination is one tool towards this one goal: partnering with parents to disciple their student to know Christ and show Christ. It’s a high privilege to come along side our parents and do all that we can to support their unique calling to disciple their children.
