Speaker: Daryn Kinney | Book: 1 Samuel

Speaker: Daryn Kinney

1 Samuel 3 begins with some sad, but very important news, a statement that everything else should be read in light of: “In those days the word of The Lord was rare, there were not many visions.” Then God breaks through the silence, literally waking up a sleepy Samuel and personally calling his name! But why is this story in The Bible? Why was The Word of The Lord so rare? What do we learn about God, His plan for Samuel, and the way He chooses to speak both then and now? Is God still speaking to us? What happens when the silence is deafening and He seems anything but near? 1 Samuel 3 tackles those questions and more.
