What do you do when you don’t know what to do? Can you remember a time when you felt your back against the wall, cornered by a circumstance so much so you felt completely helpless? Feelings of helplessness are never fun because they come with so many fears and questions. 2 Chronicles 20 gives us a tiny slice of history, a window into the leadership of King Jehoshaphat of Judah. The circumstances Jehoshaphat and the nation of Judah faced were as serious as they come and yet he did something seemingly unspectacular in response: he sought the LORD in prayer. This Sunday we’ll explore the details of this story and find out why it’s in the Bible to begin with. It’s a story that has inspired hope, trust and worship for generations and my prayer is that it will lead us there as well.
