Many of us have wondered how we might spend our time if we were given a diagnosis which left us with only a few months to live. Would we travel to exotic places we’ve always dreamed of visiting? Would we methodically check items off our “bucket list”? Would we spend as much time as possible with friends and family? Would we quietly go about our lives as if nothing had changed?

In 1 John 2:15-29, the Apostle John shockingly lets his readers (and us) know that on the stage of history “it’s the last hour”. Jesus has ascended into heaven, but he is surely coming again soon. But John doesn’t leave us as God’s people wondering how we should spend our time in “the last hour”.
