If you’ve ever read the New Testament then you’ve come across the phrases “in Christ,” “in Him” or “in Christ Jesus.” The Apostle Paul used these phrases over 160 times when addressing the people (churches) he cared for. Why? These phrases are all ways to summarize the same thing: believers are united with Christ. But what does this mean? Like a lot of phrases in the Bible, we can read them for years and not get it. I want us to “get it” just a little more this Sunday. What does it mean to be united with Christ and why does it matter? That’s what we’ll focus on.
