Dave and his wife Susan moved their family to St. Petersburg in 1992 as part of the team that started Gulf Coast Community Church. They have four children: Luke, Zack, Ben and Leah. In addition to serving the church as an elder and community group leader, Dave is a freelance marketing communications professional.
Lover of Jesus. Passionate about life, which means I love my wife (39 years!), my four kids and their spouses, and my seven grandchildren (more are welcome!). But also that I enjoy the wonderful varieties of food that God has provided and people have crafted, not the least of which is ice cream. Mine are the only children who ever said growing up, “No Dad, please don’t take us to get ice cream again.” I take this same passion to God’s Word and just as I want everyone to enjoy the delights of the foods that I enjoy, I want everyone to see the glory of God revealed in Scripture. Therefore I almost always preach in an expository fashion and strive to bring out the point or argument of the text of Scripture and make it the point or argument of the sermon. I also want to deepen my own understanding of Scripture and how it intends to transform humanity into an experience of the kingdom of God through the Gospel. Masters of Theological Studies, Calvin Theological Seminary (May 2020).
