Speaker: Jerry Cisar

“When the day of Pentecost came…” means something entirely different today than it did on the day it came in Acts 2. Today we associate that day with the day the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples and they all spoke in tongues. We might even go as far as recognizing it as the birth of the church.

However, Pentecost had a meaning before that day. That meaning informs the events of Acts 2 as much as the Passover informs our understanding of the Last Supper. In this sermon, we take a fresh look at Acts 2 and discover what it communicates to us today that exceeds most discussions which are had about this chapter.

In fact, the more fully we see the truths this chapter communicates the more it will change how we read the Bible and respond to it, change how we engage the world around us, change how we use our possessions, change how we view our participation in the local church, and so much more.
